Wiki - the musical

Hi! I saw the musical wiki at the paramount last year... oh wait, that was Wicked wasn't it? Sorry!

This is very interesting. I knew that wikipedia was something that people could add to. After reading several of the articles and linking to links, I actually have a more faith in the quality I find there. It was interesting that there are people actively watching to see if bad content is being added - making it more dependable.

In the library success wiki, I was disappointed that children's librarians hadn't shared the "best of the best storytime" ideas or something along that line. I think that would be fabulous.
So many times on the Jlibs list, someone is asking for a list of favorite books on a topic or songs, finger plays, etc. Instead of having emails flying through the air, and someone compiling all the info, wouldn't it be wonderful to have a list being compiled by everyone? And then it would stay on the wiki waiting for the next person who needs that particular list.

You can see where my excitement lies in this.
As far as the public goes, I liked the favorite books on one of the sites and the idea that patrons could add to local events/history things like that.

Here's a link to the movie "March of the Librarians" that I found through one of those links. It's a movie filmed at the ALA midwinter using the idea of "march of the penguins" including the soft gentle narrator saying such things as "No one knows how they know where to come together" "vendors luring the librarians with coffee"
You have to watch! And since we haven't learned how to add u-tube yet, I'm putting the link:

I haven't heard of anyone doing 'Wiki - the musical'. Maybe it was Wicked after all.

And I should know, because I'm producing the world's first wikimusical!

Check it out: www.wikimusical.com
