I am making cookie dough
Round and round the beaters go
Add some flour from a cup
Stir and stir the batter up
Roll them, count them 1, 2, 3
Serve them to your friends for tea!
1 little, 2 little, 3 little cookies
4 little, 5 little, 6 little cookies
7 little, 8 little, 9 little cookies
10 cookies in the pan!
I’m a little teapot short and stout,
Here is my handle, here is my spount.
When I get all steamed up, hear me shout!
“tip me over and pour me out”
Pat a Cake
Pat-a-cake, Pat-a-cake
Baker’s man
Bake me a cake, as fast as you can.
Roll it, pat it and mark it with a B
And put it in the oven for baby and me.
We'll be coloring for our end of storytime activity this week! I wish we were baking bread!
Vocabulary! Your child is learning new words all the time. Be sure to talk with your child as you’re doing things. If you decide to bake some bread or cookies, think of all the potential words: beaters, mixer, flour, sugar, yeast, kneading, cinnamon, salt, etc etc.
And while you’re at it, smell the spices and feel the textures! What a great learning experience.
Have fun!
